Kvarnby Folk High School was a part of the European project Care of folkbildningen, together with 38 other folk high schools and 7 national study associations.
We offered intensive classes in Swedish to refugees who came to Sweden within the framework of the EU’s temporary protection directive. During the project period (December 2022 to August 2023) we reached out to over 60 Ukrainian refugees, who took the opportunity to study Swedish, from CEFR-levels A1 to C1.
Solidarity
Since the beginning of Russia’s war of aggression against the Ukraine, Kvarnby folkhögskola has attempted to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
The school has donated money and resources to humanitarian aid in the Ukraine, and swiftly opened Swedish tuition courses to Ukrainian refugees. Kvarnby folk high school co-operates with other organizations that support Ukrainian citizens in Sweden.
